President's Message
Summer 2026
Dear NeSSA Members and Prospects,
As we move into summer, I want to thank everyone who attended and supported the 2026 Northeast Storage EXPO. We received some wonderful feedback about this year’s event, and we truly appreciate everyone who took the time to share their thoughts. Your input helps us continue to improve and deliver the best possible experience for our members, so please keep the feedback coming. This year’s EXPO brought together another outstanding turnout of self storage professionals from across our member states and beyond. Between the valuable connections made, engaging conversations, and excellent educational sessions, NeSSA remains committed to being a trusted resource for you and your storage business.
One of my favorite moments each year is recognizing the next generation of leaders through our scholarship program. Congratulations to Melanie Cerda, James Gilton, Cassidy Greer, Alejandra Lozano, Cadence McClure, and Kayley Spindler on receiving a NeSSA scholarship this year. We are proud to support these exceptional students as they pursue their educational goals. Thank you as well to everyone who participates in our raffles and fundraisers throughout the year, as your generosity makes this valuable member benefit possible.
Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome members back to our annual Fall Retreat on September 24 at the historic Publick House in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. This year’s program, presented by Universal Storage Group, is titled “Outselling the Giants: How Independent Operators Can Beat the REITs.” With timely industry insights, meaningful networking opportunities, and the intimate atmosphere that has made this event a member favorite, it promises to be another outstanding gathering. Registration is now open on our website, and I encourage you to join us.
Before then, we’re thrilled to introduce our first-ever New Hampshire networking event this summer. On July 23, we’ll be gathering aboard the M/S Mount Washington for an afternoon scenic cruise on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. Members will enjoy the Captains Lounge while connecting with fellow owners and operators and taking in panoramic views of New Hampshire’s lakes and mountains. Registration is just $25 per person, but space is limited to 55 attendees, so be sure to reserve your spot early.
The post-merger work our association has undertaken this year has reinforced something that has always been important to us: continuously improving and expanding the value we provide to our members. Whether it’s educational programming, networking opportunities, resources, or new event formats, we are always looking for ways to better serve you. If there is a resource you’d like to see, a topic you’d like covered, or a different type of event you’d find valuable, please let us know. Your Board of Directors meets regularly to discuss how we can best support our members, and your feedback plays an important role in shaping the future of our association.
I hope you enjoy a wonderful summer, and I look forward to seeing many of you in New Hampshire, at the Fall Retreat, and at future NeSSA events.
Warm regards,
Jessica Lamoureux
NeSSA President
