Jennifer Barroqueiro is the Director of Transitions for Storage Asset Management, a third-party management company specializing in self storage. Jennifer began working with SAM in 2018 as a District Manager after spending twelve years working in retail management. In 2021 Jennifer began overseeing the transition process for the company. Jennifer grew her team, expanded her knowledge, and focused on streamlining the transition process to improve customer experience in the field and with SAM’s clients. Since 2021 Jennifer has led the transition team in completing more than 234 transitions.

Jennifer is enthusiastic, creative, hardworking, and focused. When she puts her mind to something she will not give up until the task is completed or a solution to a problem is found. Jennifer is not shy about sharing ideas or thinking outside the box to maximize the business’ potential. She is great at developing her team to their fullest potential, understanding that asking for and giving feedback is necessary for consistent development.

When Jennifer is not working, she is spending time with her family. Over the past two years they created team Quinn’s Warriors in honor of her youngest son, Quinn. Jennifer focuses on raising funds towards Congenital Heart Defects through the Children’s Heart Foundation and bringing awareness regarding heart defects in children.

Joe Doherty is SSA’s SVP, Chief Legal & Legislative Officer. In conjunction with SSA-affiliated state associations, he has led successful legislative initiatives in over 30 states. SSA’s legislative efforts focus on modernizing self storage lien laws, providing for simplified licensing to sell tenant insurance, and defeating legislation harmful to the storage industry.

Joe has a J.D., summa cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law and B.A. in History from Emory University.  Joe, his wife Christa, and their five children live in the Mount Vernon section of Fairfax County, Virginia.

Charlie Fritts

Charlie Fritts began his self storage career in 1990 with Sovran Self Storage, now Life Storage as Vice President of Property Management. He finished his career as a Sr. Vice President responsible for 160 properties in 20 states.

In 2000, Charlie joined Storage Investment Management (SIMI) as Chief Operating Officer, becoming a partner the following year. In this position he was responsible for the daily operations of the management portfolio, feasibility studies, due diligence, acquisitions, financial analysis, budgeting and contract management relations, and administration. As of January 2018, Charlie became the sole owner and President.

Throughout his career, Charlie has specialized in consulting, marketing, operations, acquisition due diligence, and turnaround situations. He currently serves as a director and Vice President for NeSSA, as well as a past director and Vice President of MASSA and past President of CTSSA.

Steve Lucas is a Principal and Chief Operating Officer of The Storage Group, a digital marketing agency specializing in cutting-edge self storage technology products and services that ensure industry success and an improved customer experience. The Storage Group has been a digital marketing and online rental suite provider in the industry for over 10 years. Having his first successful start-up at the age of 25, Steve’s 35-year career holds many successful business development and leadership roles. Businesses under Steve’s direction have won multiple industry awards for highly visible, innovative projects. Steve’s systematic approach to business creates efficiency both internally and with the client base, resulting in long term business success with lasting relationships.

Steve Tranni is the Director of Operations of RJK's self storage division, Stor-U-Self Management Corporation. Steve opened SUS's first self storage facility in Byfield, Massachusetts 23 years ago. He is responsible for the operations of their self storage properties located throughout New England and oversees daily operations, acquisition, training, marketing, and sales. Steve has over 40 years of managerial experience. Before joining R.J. Kelly Company, Inc., he held many key management positions while working for Avis Rent-a-Car and Budget Rent-a-Car systems throughout the United States.

Steve served on the Massachusetts Self Storage Association board for 17 years and now sits on the NeSSA Board as a Director. He lives with his wife and family in southern Maine.
